Deleuze and Cinema · 2015-2016 · Fábrica Braço de Prata
With Cinema I and Cinema II, Deleuze set out to challenge one of the most deeply rooted assumptions in 20th century philosophy: that thought only exists within language. Through the analysis of framing, camera movement, sound and editing across more than 100 films, he showed how great directors think not through propositions, but through images. This cycle was created to show the films to which Deleuze gave new life by bringing them into this vast encyclopedia of the art of thinking with images.
